The main aim of these lessons is to teach people an easier method of learning guitar. Playing guitar shouldnt be boring and doesnt mean you have to abide by the rules. From over 20 years of playing and teaching I have realised that you can fast track your playing by skipping the boring stuff and learning it later when you have a better understanding, and your fingers have adjusted.
Getting started
If your just starting out, there are still a few basic things you really should learn.
Learning the basics
The following lessons are mostly meant for you to understand tablature a little better. If they are hard for you to play at first, just study them and remember the different symbols or abbreviations used.
Beginer lessons #1
These first lessons are focussed on strengthening your fingers. Play the notes at a comfortable speed. This will warm up and strengthen your fingers. Although these lessons might seem difficult or boring, they will help you. Memorising them is essential so play them over and over increasing speed as you get better.
Beginer lessons #2
This is an introduction to playing chords. Chords are a group of notes played at the same time to produce a thicker and larger range of sounds.
The parts of your guitar.

Standard notation is apain in the neck. Learn the basics of tablature here.

Make sure your axe is in tune. A tuning guide everyone should learn.

Its important to learn these notes.

Just in case you dont know.

Hammer ons & Pull offs are just as they are described.

If your having trouble bending, try starting off using your 3rd or ring finger to bend, while anchoring your pinky close behind for support.

Basically slide the note how its drawn.

Not that important yet, but it never hurts to start early.

Muting strings helps to control your picking attack.
Most people complain about sore fingers when starting out. Eventually the tips of your fingers will harden. Stick with it.
Same as the last lesson but a slightly harder pattern. Get those fingers moving.
This lesson will help your fingers to skip strings. Start off slow until comfortable and gradually play it faster .
Another lesson dealing in string skipping. Spend alot of time playing these and remember to count 1-2-3-4, while playing, or even tap your foot.
This lesson shows the different chords we will learn, as an example. We will be sticking with learning one type first.
First we will start with the easiest chords to learn, Power Chords.

This next lesson is a guide which you should refer back to alot. It shows the same Power Chord used at different frets to produce any chord sound.
